Turning at 2am

personal project

Feb 2015

1 year

Olymiadorf, Munich, Germany

While on my exchange to Munich, I lived in the Olympic village which had some amazing facilities a few steps from our front door, I became a member of the pottery club and received my key which I would use till the early hours of the morning. At only 2€ per Kg including glazing it was cheaper to make cups and bowls than to buy them.

I learnt the traditional way to turn the clay but got a bit bored with the repetitive forms and vessel types so I experimented with shapes and textures. And at the end of the year, they made for great Christmas presents!
